Adobe Photoshop / Torn Paper Effect
- Create a new layer
- Select Lasso Tool and create the outline of the torn edge
- Paint the selected area
- Select Lasso Tool again, right-click and select Make Work Path and change the tolerance to 1px
- Select Brush Tool and open Brush Panel Window
- Edit Brush Tip Shape - Splashy brush
- Edit Shape Dynamics - Minimum Roundness: 1%
- Select another color for the edge
- Select Pen Tool, right-click and select Stroke Path with Brushes, not Simulate Pressure off
- Repeat the previous step if necessary
- Drag a paper texture image on top
- Image > Adjustments > Desaturate
- Set the texture layer to Multiply
- Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast
